- SaaS service – automatic access to the latest version of the software.
- Documents and metadata are stored in SharePoint Online but presented in MetaShare’s interface.
- Only certain information (eg different settings) is stored in MetaShare’s database (Azure).
- Log in with Microsoft 365.
Self-hosted MetaShare Online
- MetaShare is installed in your environment (Azure). You will therefore have to install new versions yourself when they are made available for installation.
- Documents and metadata are stored in SharePoint Online but presented in MetaShare’s interface.
- Your settings for various MetaShare configurations are stored in your database (Azure).
- Log in with Microsoft 365.
MetaShare Server
- MetaShare is installed on a Windows server in your network. You will therefore have to install new versions yourself when they are made available for installation.
- All your documents, metadata and MetaShare settings are stored in your infrastructure.
- Log in with Windows, AD FS or OIDC.
Hybrid MetaShare
- Combining MetaShare Online and MetaShare Server
- Storing common documents in MetaShare Online
- Storing classified documents in MetaShare Server
