For details, see these online resources from Microsoft:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/SharePoint-Online-software-boundaries-and-limits-8F34FF47-B749-408B-ABC0-B605E1F6D498\" target=\"_blank\">SharePoint Online software boundaries and limits<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sharepoint\/install\/software-boundaries-limits-2019\" target=\"_blank\">Software boundaries and limits for SharePoint Servers 2016 and 2019<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On this page we list some of the limitations that are related to document management in MetaShare: <a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/faq\/what-limitations-are-there-in-sharepoint-regarding-document-management\/\">What limitations are there in Microsoft 365, regarding document management?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For details about MetaShare specific limitations and known issues, see <a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/known-issues\/\">Known issues<\/a>, where known issues related to MetaShare and SharePoint are listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Customer data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer documents and metadata that are accessible through MetaShare are stored in the customer\u2019s Microsoft 365 tenancy. Microsoft\u2019s Data protection services are provided to prevent data loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MetaShare configuration data is stored in MetaShare\u2019s database. This includes references to sites and usernames, which may contain personal information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not share any customer data with any third-party services outside Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure. Billing information is however shared with an outsourced accounting firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backup and disaster recovery<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure uninterrupted availability and facilitate effective disaster recovery, we maintain constant 24\/7 monitoring. The MetaShare service is designed with automated backups, stored both within Azure and in secure offsite locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintenance, upgrades and updates of the Service<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MetaShare is continuously developed with improvements and new features that will make MetaShare easier to use. In average we do 6 releases per year. Information about these updates are communicated a few days in advance, through e-mail, and are also listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.metashare.com\/en\/roadmap\/\">MetaShare\u2019s product roadmap<\/a> page. Depending on severity and type of support agreement, the response time will vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of support agreements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Basic support\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access to <a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/\">MetaShare&#8217;s help.<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay per use support\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A response is guaranteed within 40 office hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be charged a support startup cost per case plus the time spent on the support cases. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Premium support\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A response is guaranteed within 8 office hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be charged on the time spent on the support cases. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MetaShare and GDPR<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.metashare.com\/en\/metashares-architecture\/\">MetaShare Server<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.metashare.com\/en\/metashares-architecture\/\">or Self-hosted MetaShare online<\/a>, all your documents, settings and customer information are stored in your own infrastructure. If you use <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.metashare.com\/en\/metashares-architecture\/\">MetaShare Online<\/a>, then no customer information, data or content is stored in MetaShare, apart from these exceptions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Customer information used in the MetaShare activation process (e.g. the date of the MetaShare activation, the URL to customer\u2019s SharePoint tenant and the administrator\u2019s e-mail address).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/adminmanual\/definition-of-workspace-configurations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MetaShare\u2019s configuration<\/a>&nbsp;(e.g. which filters and columns to display in the user interface).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For all&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-create-a-workspace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">workspaces that are created from MetaShare<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-create-a-link-to-an-existing-sharepoint-site\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SharePoint sites that are linked to MetaShare<\/a>, MetaShare stores their display names and their URLs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For all&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-manage-document-tasks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">document tasks<\/a>&nbsp;of type \u201cPending approval\u201d and \u201cPassed due date\u201d, MetaShare stores links to the documents with pending tasks and the individuals who are responsible for these tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>MetaShare never store any of its customer\u2019s documents or information about its users.&nbsp;Further description on how <a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/faq\/how-does-metashare-comply-to-gdpr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MetaShare manages GDPR<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Explore MetaShare&#8217;s service description for secure and efficient document handling.
